I worked on this for 2 days, then thought about scrapping it since it wasn’t turning out how I imagined, but somehow managed to polish it enough to use. This is the screen that appears when you obtain a complex in Lotus One (Stage 2). It’s nothing technically impressive, but I made it with the goal of conveying the story with a kind of retro-futuristic digital art feel. I see a lot of digital art and installation pieces on Pinterest and at exhibitions – there are some truly amazing works. I’m not an expert in this field so I don’t know much, but especially the light-based installations I experienced firsthand at exhibition spaces were incredible. They were absolutely mesmerizing. I’m really curious what goes on in the minds of people who come up with these things. It’s so fascinating how they think of such ideas. Media art had that nice feeling of being directly projected onto backgrounds with movement, but it seemed like many had graphics that were not as polished.

This is an effect I added to try making Stage 2 look more like a virtual space. Stage 2’s story is roughly organized, and once I finish the Complex2 (temporary name) mechanic, it should be mostly done. Gotta keep pushing forward and making it happen.
